Massive fire at cosmetics factory in Iran

At least 53 people were injured in a huge fire and subsequent blast at a cosmetics factory in the Iranian city of Karaj, near the capital Tehran.

The blast was caused by a gas leak in parts of the production line, state media said.

The incident on Tuesday took place at an industrial complex in Karaj, about 40 km west of Tehran in Iran's Alborz province.

People injured in the incident were hospitalised and some of them were in critical condition, state media added.
