Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a major upgrade on 2,173 lighting units across four cycling and e-scooter tracks in the city, including Al Qudra, Jumeirah, Nad Al Sheba, and Mirdif & Mushrif.
This maintenance work is part of efforts to making sure these pathways are safe and well-lit, encouraging more people to enjoy cycling and using e-scooters.
Abdullah Lootah, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance at the RTA, emphasised that maintaining these lighting units is crucial for keeping the tracks safe and in top shape.
He added that the RTA’s maintenance approach includes routine checks and cleaning to prevent issues, as well as corrective actions for any malfunctions.
Lootah also highlighted the teamwork involved in this effort, noting that feedback from field inspectors, the RTA Call Centre, the Madinati service on the RTA app, and various government partners all play a role in guiding the maintenance work.
