Nearly a quarter of construction work has been completed on Dubai's new traffic control centre in Al Barsha.
The AED 590 million project will ensure that 60 per cent of Dubai's road network is monitored by smart systems.
It will cut the time taken to spot accidents and congestion, in addition to improving response time.
Instant traffic updates will also be passed on to the public through smart apps and variable messaging signs.
With aims to expand the coverage of #Dubai roads by smart systems network to 60%, @RTA_Dubai completes 23% in expansion of smart traffic systems project and 26% of building works in Al Barsha Traffic Control Centre.
