Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, said the repeated targeted attacks on ADNOC tankers will not deter the UAE from moving forward with a 'balanced and rational policy' backed by diplomacy, deterrence, and adherence to international law.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, he added that the UAE will continue to safeguard its rights to freedom of navigation and the use of the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law, alongside defending its sovereignty, carrying out dialogue and pursuing diplomatic options.
"We will make every effort to strengthen a unified Gulf position, as it is a fundamental pillar for protecting the region's security and the interests of its countries in this ongoing crisis," he added.
Gargash's remarks follow the targeting of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) vessels in three separate incidents while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the latest on Friday evening.
الاستهداف المتكرر لناقلات شركة أدنوك لن يثني دولة الإمارات عن المضي قدماً في سياسة متزنة وعاقلة، تقوم على ثلاثية الردع والدبلوماسية والالتزام بالقانون الدولي.
