More people in the UAE are getting tested for the coronavirus, thanks to new drive-thru testing facilities.

Speaking exclusively to ARN News, a spokesperson from the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) said they are equipped to screen up to 500 people a day.

Over a dozen testing centres opened across the Emirates recently, making it easier for residents to get checked.

Dr. Mohana Hasan, Prosthodontist and Manager of the SEHA National Screening Centre at Dubai’s Port Rashid, explains the process of booking appointments and the cost involved for different categories of people.

He confirms that people getting tested can either carry their Emirates ID card or passport, as the centres cater to citizens, expats as well as visitors.

Dr. Mohana also clarifies that those who don't have any symptoms can also get tested.

It could take between two and five days for the test results to be ready, and he explains the follow-up procedures if a person tests positive for the virus.
