As many as 3,509 patients have been treated in the first month since the establishment of an Emirati field hospital in Chad to support Sudanese refugees.
Twenty-four surgeries were conducted at the facility in Amdjarass, which catered to 1,897 adults and 1,612 children in the first month of operations.
The hospital is part of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to support people affected by the conflict that broke out in Sudan earlier this year.
The initiative also eases pressure on neighbouring Chad, which has been dealing with an influx of Sudanese refugees.
