UAE Moon-sighting committee to meet to determine Ramadan start

The UAE's Moon-sighting committee will meet on the evening of Sunday to determine the start of Ramadan.

The committee will begin the search of the new Moon to determine whether Monday is the first day of Ramadan 1445 in the UAE. 

Following Maghrib prayers at Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, the committee, chaired by Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Nuaimi, the minister of Justice, will gather to witness the first sighting of the crescent Moon. 

Should the Moon be seen the start of Ramadan will be declared for Monday. Should a new Moon not be seen Ramadan will begin on Tuesday in the UAE.
