UAE to craft comprehensive women's health policy

WAM

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced plans to develop a comprehensive national policy aimed at improving women's health in the UAE.

The initiative, launched on Emirati Women's Day, seeks to provide specialised healthcare services tailored to women's unique needs throughout their lives.

The policy will be guided by core principles such as leadership support, gender equality, holistic healthcare, quality and inclusivity.

The effort, the Ministry said, underscores the UAE's commitment to its people and aligns with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision of empowering women as architects of the nation's progress.

A workshop was also held in conjunction with Emirati Women's Day celebrations, bringing together various stakeholders to develop a unified framework for advancing women's health.

Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, praised the collaborative approach in shaping the national policy, while Dr. Lubna Al Shaali, Director of Public Health Policy Department, emphasised the policy's draft will align with UAE government directives and global best practices.
