Authorities in the UAE have told Netflix to remove certain inappropriate content from its streaming platform.
In a joint statement, the Media Regulatory Office and the Telecommunications & Digital Government Regulatory Authority said the content in question violates the UAE's broadcasting regulations and contradicts societal values.
"Netflix has been contacted to remove this content, especially the materials directed at children."
The two regulators added that they will closely monitor the platform to ensure its commitment to the country's broadcasting regulations, and take the necessary measures if it fails to comply.
