India thrash Bangladesh in Asia Cup opener

India thrashed Bangladesh by 45 runs in the opening match of the Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament in Dhaka. Opener Rohit Sharma smashed 83 off 55 balls to help India score 166-6. In reply, hosts Bangladesh were restricted to 121-7, with left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra taking three wickets. The UAE take on Sri Lanka in the continental championship’s second match today (5.30pm).
